Farecla G3 Scratch Remover.

Post by aaronon »

Anyone used this and had a horror story?

I have a scratch and everything on the Internet suggest this cream is what I need. A dose of this. Then super resin polish. Then wax.

I'm afraid of causing swirls or ripping paint of or causing more scratches lol.

Is it idiot proof? :)

Hi this is what I recommended to you! You just work this in with a damp cloth until this scratch has gone or reduced. No need for SRP with this as it has mild abrasives that gently take away a bit of the clear coat. Done by hand you won't do any harm at all :)

HiMate
im guessing this is to do with your previous post ref the scratch. you wont damage the grey as there is a layer of laquer over the top of the metallic base coat. try some normal polish first rubbing in circular motion over and around the scratch,if no good with normal pressure try a little more pressure, dont be afraid.wait to dry and polish off.....if that hasnt worked try there are different grades of farecla, ideally youll have a mate with some as its fairly dear for the odd scratch. and use the same method dont use quite so much perssure and spit on the area or damp the cloth first, same process use circular motion etc, if that removes it then a good coat of normal polish to area and bobs your uncle, hope this helps.....

Just a quick question.....

Should I try autoglym resin first? Before this? Is the resin a temporary fix and the G3 a permanent fix?

I'd appreciate any answers :)

Yep, SRP temp fix if you like, will wash away every so often. G3 permanantly destroys the scratch!

So this morning I washed, snow foamed, and did some super resin polish on the scratch. . .It's kind of better and no one will notice this except me lol.

My friend seems to think that "Colour Magic' would be better for these scratches than super resin. Does anyone have any experience using colour magic? I might go over to Halfords and get some cus they're 3 for 2 on cleaning products at the minute.

I also noticed when I was cleaning the bonnet there are three TINY wee dots that have orange behind them :S Does anyone have any advice?

Can't even see the scratch! The orange bits look to me as though their rusting stone chips... Is it level?

That isn't the area of the scratch haha. The scratch is still there lol but I've bought the G3 and all now so will sort it all tomorrow :):)

The rusting is kind of scary. . .they do appear to be stone chips that go right down to the bonnet maybe :S

Does the entire care actually be covered in a kind of see through plastic sheet? Down by the door there are wee bits of plastic that it looks like you could peel off

Oops... it's nothing to worry about clean the rust out with something like T-Cut rust magic, I saw some in Asda the other week for £3! Once it's cleaned out use a stonechip kit from VW to fill it in. Mine doesn't have anything like that and I've had two, maybe it came with something like ventureshield?

Cool I'll check out that rust. . .does it affect normal paint or do you just pop it on. . .leave it 15 mins and wash it off.

I'll phone VW enquiring about the stone chip kit. . do you just kind of drip it into the rusty hole? Does it not sit as a bubble and slightly raised?
