GTI Sill trim ??

I have just ordered a pair of GTI sill trims, but have just realised I don't know how they are attached !!

Does anyone know, if they are simply glued on, or are they screwed from underneath ???

Where did you order from? Any pics?

CANDYMAN fitted sill trims on his thread also Gregperkins has fitted some OEM looking ones. No screws it's all clean and then use adhesive.

Franko, I think you are referring to the metallic sill plates that sit internally in the door frame. I believe B19NS is referring to the black exterior sill trims that are fitted exclusively to the GTi as part of the bodykit!

I'lll dig out a thread for you Wayne, I'm 75% sure they are held on by some form of adhesive but I could be wrong!

Yes mate, it's the external ones. After fitting the new wheels, the car looks like it needs something to widen it a bit, so I thought these would do it. I hope it's just adhesive, don't fancy drilling the sills.

Gonna try and book a day off next week, then off for a remap !!! Woo hoo.

I think your referring to GTI side skirts, which come in a black plastic finish.
They are held on with two bolts, on the underside of the sill.

Well, bit of a misunderstanding at the dealers. The parts they quoted for £100 a pair, were indeed the adhesive strips for the sill step !! Unreal prices !!

The GTI Side skirts are £158 each side. I have now fallen out of love with the idea !!! Don't know how they justify over £300 for a bit of plastic trim !!!

Also been looking at the Audi A4 blade style skirts and wondering how long they are ? I think they would look pretty good if you can get them to fit.
