Fitting gti exhaust to 1.4 16v

Post by finners94 »

Is it possible to fit gti exhaust to a 1.4 16v? Has anyone here done it or is there any guides as I want to know what I will need to do it, cheers.

What are you wanting to do it for? Looks or performance? If its performance then it'll be more hassle than its worth as the gti has a turbo the engine end has a flange to bolt to the turbo rather than a manifold to the block. If you want a performance exhaust with that diameter you'd be better buying one/getting one made...

Thanks, I was just wanting the back box really for the looks and sound, not the full system

Best bet is to get a flange welded to the gti back box and to your exhaust to attach them together. Then buy a gti rear valance, should fit nicely.. If you take the backbox with your car to an exhaust place they should be able to do it for you, they might just weld it on instead.
