cruise control help

Hi all just having cruise control fitted to my wife's polo gt had a call from the vw garage who is fitting it saying the the green activation light comes on but no cruise control vagcom not showing any faults. any ideas ?

Has it been activated using VCDS?

Yes it has all signals ok,brake n clutch switch ok too,switches on green light in dash cluster but no cruise control.

What kind of speeds have you tried? Might not work under a certain speed

Started at 40,50,60,70 nothing tested everything on vagcom and all is well it just don't work .

Hmm, very strange. Possibly a faulty switch then - have you checked that all the buttons work using the measuring blocks on VCDS? Otherwise are you sure it's wired up properly at the plug on the bulkhead?

Finally sorted, turns out it was a faulty clutch switch even though vagcom saying it was ok. Just drove down to Lincoln @ 70 mph returned 65.1 mpg well happy .

How much did they charge to fit it?

Paid £200 all in that includes a new clutch switch.
