New GTI - Unleaded or Super Unleaded

Post by Tompfaa »

Hi guys,

Apologies if its already been asked elsewhere. Picking up my new GTI on Thursday and was wondering what people's thoughts were on what fuel to run it on? And whether anyone had any first hand experience?

98 is recommended however it will run on 95 but will not make full power.

Thanks, so you think it's worth the extra cost for 98?

Yes agreed - I think these engines are just a little more responsive on 98RON fuel and give slightly better fuel consumption.

Better fuel always makes a difference, even did on my 6N2 GTI :)

I will certainly be putting 98 in mine. Its not much of a difference per tank really. Average difference of £2-3 per tank. Worth it I think in the long run.

Thanks for your help guys I'm convinced now to use super unleaded. Just been to see my car, the monza shadows, tinted windows and xenon lights with the black pearlescent make it look amazing. Cannot wait until Thursday!
