HI guys, in preparation for taking delivery of the Wife's Blue GT at the end of this month and retro fitting the fog lights, I did a trial run over the weekend on her current SEL (with Fogs fitted).
I satisfied myself that removal of the fog light blanks is dead easy, and the actual fitting of the lights into the bumper is again real easy. Light switch removal likewise and it looks like the access to the rear of the fusebox to add Fuse 54 is not exactly easy but doable. I've even tracked the factory run for the fog light wiring harness, so all in all it doesn't look too bad until I came to where exactly does the cable penetrate the firewall bulkhead ?
I've had a good look around the drivers side of the engine bay and no obvious route presented itself. I removed the rubber seal holding the plastic guard over the plenum chamber and bent back slightly the plastic guard (where the wiper mechanism sits), and it's tight but again no obvious route or blanking grommet ? Has anyone actually found a relatively easy route through please ?
Passing cables through the bulkhead ?

Re: Passing cables through the bulkhead ?
It probably goes passenger side behind the battery. Thats the route VW use mostly now

Yep there's a small opening behind the airbox, I just took the airbox out and routed it through, peeled back the carpets and found it behind the airbag. Guide is done just need to take a few piccys
