Hey, great choice on engine, I love mine :D

Remap wise, ive looked into it but not gotten round to having it done yet. There's some good write ups on the briskoda forum. Think shark performance are offering 135hp and a nice chunk of torque to go with it. Costs are £400 at the minute, I'm waiting for an tdi offer to crop up.

As far as dpf removal, it makes sense to do it. But I've no idea on the cost or if it affects the power output.

Nice! What you doing with your 9n3? Are you gonna put the VRS alloys on the 6R? Have a look here, Briskoda has loads of topics on the recaps but this one has all the details - http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/26 ... 16-tdi-cr/

Remap is £400 and DPF removal is an extra £200, I've not had any trouble as of yet (touches wood) with it but I suppose it's only logical to get it removed. Get some pics up! :D

thaks guys.....let me know if you see a tdi offer :P

as with the VRS wheels on the 6R...im not really sure to be honest! im going to be selling the 9n3 as soon as i get the 6R on the road after a good service and clean out.

I really really really want to do a gold bbs theme with my 6R as they look awesome in white :D but time will tell!

i will put pics up next week when i get time .keep an eye out! :D

I have this exact thought just picked up a very nice 1.6 se tdi 5dr for the wife really happy with it apart from the lack of ovetaking punch.
So short list so far is remap, panel filter egr off and dpf delete maybe miltek bypass pipe depends on how much cutting im going to have to do.
Revo remap is quoting 141bhp but celtic have them beat at 158bhp for 360 on a mobile service.
Grm Northampton are very keen to develop a map for me on the dyno saying they feel revo target is reachable.

Anyone running a mapped 1.6 tdi able to advise on impact on fuel consumption e.t.c.
Thanks in advance

Dave

Anyone remapped a 75ps 1.6 tdi yet????

I have a newly aquired 2010 polo for the wife.
Like the sound of revo quoting 141bhp but celtic quote 158bhp
Grm Northampton would like to custom tune on the dyno with revo figures as the target.

Just concerned fuel economy e.t.c will suffer a lot any advice you could offer would be great.

Speak one of the tuners direct. Most will be happy to help.

I've found that remaps I've had in the past have improved mpg due to not having to work the engines as hard to get up to speed. I had a 1.9tdi bora remapped and a 2.0tdi seat altea with dpf delete. Both ran fine and fast. Never had an egr delete though.

I would question the Celtic remap figure of 160. And even the revo one sounds high and might be quoting a power at flywheel figure. I'd still refer you to the briskoda forum for their tried and tested map

http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/26 ... -cr/page-3

I'd refer you the last comment on page 3 and onwards.

i know the ben from shark performance...they quote 130bhp...but ive heard of 140 at the wheels!...but maybe i ought to stay sensible as i dont want to ruin my flywheel or engine....

what would it be like putting a single mass flywheel in it?

Clutches on the 1.6 TDI are notorious for going wrong, have a look on the A1 forums... Mine bit the dust at 30k and was replaced FOC by VW under warranty.
