Rear Mirror Shake - Need help to stop it!

Post by Crisis »

Hi,

I have a 12" Sub running at 300W in my car, I have no problems with noise or anything, otherthan when the music sound is low, but the bass still quite high all I can hear is the rear mirror rattling around, I mean it moves all the bloody time anyway, but Im just wondering what the best thing to do with it is.

Your ideas please... be it free ideas, or some with a price tag attatched. Just it annoys me so much everything else so good.

Cheers!

I had ame problem with mine - well similar as the glass was rattling in the plastic surround - Damm irritating any way I just got some black silicone gasket cement (the stuff that sets hard) and using a stanley knife blade squeezed it around the glass to take up the slack. let it harden for a few days (looks rubbish for this period) and then trim round using the plastic bit as a guide and peel of the excess.......

It hasn't buzzed or rattled since

Next I suppose will be the rattles in the rear quarter area - I guess the silicone won't do anything there but that expanding and setting foam stuff has worked really well before on other cars where I couldn't trace the rattles!!!!

I hope this helps

I was thinking of taking it off, and giving it a good seal in. Then I will see what rattles next.

Used to have things in the doors, they rattled so I put them in the chair storage, kind of need to strap eveything down now.

I'l give it a go soon, any more suggestions plz let me know.

If your getting that in a mark4 with 350 watt 12", then god knows how my mark3 will fair with a 600 watt 12". Hmmmm, now might be the time to downsize!
