Performance figures for 1.4 8v

Post by NIbbo »

Does anyone know the performance figures of a 1.4 8v please. Also is there any performance difference between the CL and SE.

Cheers. Paul :?:

Hey

i know it has abotu 60-65bhp and does 0-60 in about 15-17 seconds (dont quote me on that) www.parkers.co.uk should give those answers!

There is no difference between the CL and SE performance wise the only difference is that the SE comes with the sports bumper (16v) and possibly sports interior (not sure on that one?)

VW Polo 1.4 Spec:

Car:
MPG:
Top Speed:
0-60 Time:

Car: 1.4 16V
MPG: 36.6
Top Speed: 117mph
0-60 Time: 10.4

Car: 1.4S
MPG: 44.1
Top Speed: 107mph
0-60 Time: 12.3

Car: 1.4SE
MPG: 44.8
Top Speed: 99mph
0-60 Time: 14.5

Car: 1.4E
MPG: 44.8
Top Speed: 99mph
0-60 Time: 14.5

Kinda scary how slow that is for a 1.4 in general. a 1.0 Yaris will beat them all (except the 16V)

i timed my 16v at 9.2 with 2 people in it, i know the clocks are out abit (as been discussed b4!), but 10.4 its definately not. VW are liars!!!

16v is definatly quicker than that! I've seen off VTRs and Passat TDi's (with 2 red letters so 130Bhp) both of which are quoted under 10 seconds 8)

 Perhaps I should rig up my AP-22 to find out for sure!

Thats the figures for the 6N2 Models.

Well they say the 1.0 is 17.9 sec or something, but I swear I can do it in more like 12-15secs.

It all depends on how you drive it, Im not sure how these are drivin, probably change gear at 3,000 RPM to get these speeds.

If Im on a dual carriage way and change at around 4,000 - 4,500 RPM I can get goin damn fast and keep up with BMWz and s**t, not that they are racing, but they still are goin fast!

I can do it in about 12 seconds in a my fiat cinquecento. Mind you its fairly modded. Hoped a VW may have been a bit quicker. At least its better looking i suppose!!!

Well I can hit sixty in a tad over 8 seconds with about 120bhp atleast.

So 9.1 sounds about right for a standard 16v. Also you can compare the figures to other cars which you know u are qual to or faster.
