Polo went in to limp mode/loss of power.
Engine management light and EPC light came up on the dash, plugged it into vcds and got these errors
Additional Info: WVWZZZ9NZ2Y059135 VWZ7Z0A4654044
2 Faults Found:
17978 - Engine Start Blocked by Immobilizer
P1570 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
17950 P1542 - 35-10 - Intermittent
I think my throttle body may just need cleaning.
Is there a guide on how to do this?

I'd expect a legal full version of VCDS to be a bit more specific, and decode any of these codes as being due to a throttle body problem - if that was the case. Or have you done some research into what these codes normally or caused by.
Generally speaking, remove throttle body, spray it with carb cleaner, if fitted, remove the interface plate and clean it fully especially around the EGR pipe port, use legal version of VCDS to perform basic functions - ie re-learn end stop voltages.

I'm guessing that the OP has a petrol engine car - ie it has a throttle body assembly!umar-dub wrote:Take a read of my write up: http://www.uk-polos.net/view ... 43&t=60111
