Polo 6r advice

Post by Hectorr »

Hi everyone, new to the forum but have been meaning to join for a while now. I drive a 1.2 polo 6R which is my second car, my first being a 1.0 6n.

I love my car to bits haha, but tonight when I was out two warning lights came up on my display, I checked the handbook and it said one was the engine management light and the other is the catalytic converter light :( could anyone shed a light as to why they might have came on ? Is it a common fault?

Most of all, how much it might be costing me to get it fixed ?

Any help/advice would be much appreciated :)

Cheers,
Michael

Might be worthwhile you getting someone with VCDS to get it plugged in & see exactly what the fault is..

Cheers for the reply mate, just wish I knew someone, just really wanted a heads up of what I'm looking at before I stick it in to the vw garage and me and my wallet get too much of a fright haha..

catalytic light could have also caused the engine light...but engine light could be many things..

cat light could be due to a fault sensor, most likely O2 (oxygen) sensor
