GTI tyre pressures

I have searched this but didn't find a definitive answer.

What tyres pressures are gti owners running? talking the standard monzas with 205/45/16 tyres

I know in the petrol cap it states the pressures but they just seem ridiculously high?! 38 psi is a lot

Is anyone running these pressures?

I ran those pressures on both of my GTi's and never had any issues! A lot of high powered modern cars have very high pressures, newer TDi Audi A3's on 18" wheels run something like 41psi in the front and that's just the recommended pressure for normal load. R32's are something like 38psi all round

Ah right I better pump them up a bit then! Might explain why it's a bit wallowy around corners haha
Used to my old corsa which was 32 front and 26-28 rear
