R-Line vs. Polo Gti Ride Height

Post by calvinw1 »

Just wondered as the polo gti comes with a lower suspension that the normal polo's anyway, Does the R line also come lower? Looking to get some lowering springs when my R Line finally arrives but I have seen some for a gti which lowers that 20mm than GTI height, then some that lower the standard models 40/30mm. So would be helpful to know the difference.

Did try and find it on the web, quick search didn't really bring anything helpful up. Thanks! :)

According to www.vw.co.uk it's the same height as the "stock" Polo's when you compare the models.

Just got a R Line too and it defiantly needs lowering. VW Parts say they don't offer any lowering springs for this model but I guess the Gti ones would fit?! Anyone know if they would and how much they would lower it by? Wanna try and keep the warranty that's why trying to go the VW route! Any idea on price too?

So is your dealer saying these aren't suitable?

No matter what height the car is, when you buy lowering springs it lowers the car 40/30 mm from the stock height of a Polo... So it you have a car like the GTI that's is lowered 15 mm from the factory then you only get a 25/15 mm drop from stock GTI height.

Thanks, so apart from the springs, is the suspension on the gti the same as a standard polo? I noticed the blue gt is 15mm lower than standard. Does this mean the blue gt and gt have identical suspension? Thanks for the info. Just I'm ordering a new polo, but still deciding on which model.

I'm sure the dampers are a bit different too on the GTI.

And yes... The GTI and BlueGT share the same suspension.
