RCD 510 & Bluetooth

Ordered the rcd510 as an extra on my gti.

Does the system have Bluetooth to make handsfree calls?

I assumed it did but cant find tbis info in the accessories brochure

No. RCD-510 has no built in Bluetooth, so needs an external set up. This will either be by the external dash mounted Bury kit (dealer supplied), or the much better and elegant VW 9W7 kit from the Golf / Jetta's, but I doubt you will get a dealer to fit that for you ?

taking my Bury kit out in the next couple of weeks for the 9W7 kit, Bury kit is nice to use on voice activation but want the mfsw controls and rcd integration

That's a bit sh!t. You can buy a headunit for £50 with bluetooth and my current 6yr old jvc headunit has bluetooth.
This really should be standard, how much will vw want to from my pocket to put bluetooth on it?

After looking at the specification guide, it seems that the gti comes with bluetooth 'touch phone kit'.

I wonder if I could get the dealer to swap this for the 9W7 kit or get money off to be without it. Doubt it like... but maybe worth a try
