Hi All,
Have been trying to settle on a new forum to discuss my new toy, VW Polo tdi 57 reg. A lot of them seem very quiet, but this one looks more active! So thought should give it a go. Have read some useful and interesting threads on here in the past.
So just purchased my polo two days ago, and as always couple of niggles I wanted to ask about:
I noticed that the clutch biting point was very high, compared to what I am used to! (Haven't driven many manuals recently, but it is definitely higher!) Also the clutch pedal feels a little heavy. Could this be normal for this car? I did try the normal tests to test clutch slip, i.e. pushing the car at speed, and at high gear low speed, but noticed no issues. Could this be a clutch wear issue, or cable adjustment issue, or am I worrying for nothing??
Having read through the internet, have had various conflicting information, such as: high biting point = clutch nearly worn out, or high biting point = irrelevant as clutch is hydraulic; clutch pedal stuff = on way out, or clutch pedal stiff = requiring adjustment or lubrication or broken pedal box!
Would like some advice! ps I am absolutely not technical, so may also require details of any good indies in the West London area, as I am sure I would like to get the car checked over at some point!
Thanks in advance!

Sounds normal to me, the clutch in the GTi is high and heavy.
