Start stop on a blueGT

Post by aniseedvan »

On my first decent run (roughly 70 mile journey x2) I've noticed the start stop appears to be disabled once the car had been running for a good hour, e.g. At the slip road from the motorway.
It's worked fine on shorter journeys (e.g. 10 miles)

Looking at the conditions on a website, one is the coolant being over 100 degrees. Having only just read this I didn't read what it was but I'm pretty sure that the needle was at 90..

It's a cool day and running at 70mph shouldn't tax a car..

Has anyone else experienced this, am I being unnecessarily concerned?

This is not my experience. I have found that stop start works well most of the time except when the battery is under heavy load ie air conditioning on low on a warm day or when heated seats, lights and heated screen are all running.

I'd be tempted to get the dealer to have a look.

Yep, I had the ipod playing and in the morning the (manual) a/c on position 1, and only lights were DRL. Will give the dealer a ring...

Mine works perfect but after a "long" trip I turn it off since I prefer the engine be idle a coupe of minutes before stoping the engine
