fitting mult function steering wheel to new model polo

Post by jamesmtack »

hi guys!

i have a new shape polo 2010 plate, and am fixing it up i.e putting foglights, rns315 radio, new vw alloys ect...... but i have just purchased a polo gti MFSW with the buttons only on the left hand side, was wondering if you guys know how to fit it? like disarming the airbag and releasing the old steering wheel.

thanks

I believe non gti models require a mfsw control unit and modified wiring for the airbag

sorry there was a type error in my question, the exact specs of the MFSW i have purchased are as follows; VW POLO MK8 6R 3 SPOKE BLACK LEATHER MULTIFUNCTION STEERING WHEEL 6R0419091F, this is a different version than the one fitted on the gti, this one is an optional extra on the SE and R line models, the gti one controls a hands free kit as well. but i have the one that only controls sound and changing tracks.
