As far as I'm aware the only recall campaign is affecting around 30,000 Tiguan models in the UK, where electrical problems could arise using synthetic oil. Will update if I hear anything else.

Friend of mine with a GTI as well has contacted his dealer and VWUK.

The recall is related to this box but not in the UK, only warmer climates where overheating occurs when stopped/crawling in traffic.

Nothing to worry about for now. That said I go into neutral or park when stopped to save sitting on the brake pedal and frying the eyes of the driver behind.

You sure? I was informed recall is for the DQ 200 (7 speed dry clutch 'box) which is used in all DSG Polo 6Rs

Yes - the 'wet' gearbox is surely the 6 speed version found in larger engine models such as the Golf, Scirocco etc. My GTI is due for service soon, I am going to ask them about this recall on my visit.

Apologies for the comment about only Tiguan, me misreading something! You're right though it is the DQ200 box.

I've been told by my dealership ( in the uk) that they checked my gt dsg serial no. against info they had from VW and it doesn't require a recall.

just had my car in to VW with gearbox issues and they replaced my clutch pack !
