Drivers Door and Boot not closing properly

Hi Guys,
I bought my second Polo GTi but this one is a 9n3 instead of a 6r, I noticed that the drivers door does not close easily at all, I have tried loosening with a bit of the old WD40 but it didnt seem to do much so I wondered if anyone else has had a similar problem? Also I have a similar problem with the boot not shutting without having to slam it. Does anyone know of anything that I could check or that may help me? Cheers Scott

I had the same problem with my drivers door, it just didn't seem to close as nicely as my passenger, so I sprayed the hinges /latch with white grease and it has loosened it up a bit, it still isn't quite as nice though.

Check to see if the latch in the door and the catch on the b pillar line up together, the door may have dropped a bit causing the door to have to move up a bit when you close it

Cheers yeah Ill definitely have to try that, my mate has a R32 with a similar problem, Thanks for the suggestion
