gear knob

does anyone know how to take the gear knob off? ive a 1.0 e w reg . ive tried to take it off but it dosent move at all

if i remember correctly, they are bonded in place like mk4 golfs

wot u need to do is remove the gaitor from the centre console, and pull it up, then u will c a metal clip, u have to cut that and the gearnob should just slide off! there are no thread or anything! Sure thats how it comes off, i'll av to ask me bro! but have a look!
