Has anyone had dealings with these guys?

I filled an online request form in earlier for the price of 4x 185/50 14's
Nick from selecta just rang me and asked what the best price i had was...so i said conti sport was £40 + vat fitted

He just rang me back and said they will do them at £39+vat fitted.
mwahahaha *strokes cat*

They have places dotted around the uk (matlock is closest to me i reckon)

just wondered if anyone has had tyres fitted by them.

Can't say I have mate. Well done on getting them to do it for next to nothing! Makes you wonder why they are desperate to do it so cheap though. Have them fitted, and hopefully the work should be good. Let us know how you get on.

A few of my mates have. The only problem I can see is they have hidden charges, like disposal of old tyres, balancing etc. Make sure the fitted price you were quoted includes evertyhting.

well, fittings often free (what you gonna do with a bare tyre unless you have a tyre shop yourself?), but yep - always double check the balancing (and new valve, disposal of knackered stuff!).....

place i've called round here looked to have some fantastic prices just for budget keep-ya-rolling 155/70s.......... with the valve, balancing and disposal, the price nearly DOUBLED.. think i'm going to go with Kwik Fit now, they ran the same kind of scam, but the "surcharge" for those services is less painful.

....once i've tried ringing a few others!

The guy said fitting is included in the price but it will be extra for balancing, plus i wanna keep my old wheels and tyres so they wont be charging for throwing them in the skip.

If they say summat like £15 for balancing i'll stick em in boot and take them to the local garage near me.

Will keep everyone posted how i go on.

i ONLY use Selectatyre at the moment (the branch in Buxton, Derbyshire). They're good.

The only think you have to do is as for the fully fitted/balanced/inflated/got rid of old tyres/etc price, not the price they can do the tyres for... They do the tyres REALLY cheap, but make their money from the other bits.

They're still damned cheap though... And you can get them to inflate your tyres with nitrogen! (no questions about nitrogen inflation now please... do a search, on here or on google!!)

Just one point though, when they charge you for disposal of old tyres they aren't just throwing them in a skip. The garage actually has to pay to get rid of them. they have to be shredded for starters.

When I buy tyres I just have them delivered & a mate fits them, balances them & revalves them for me for nowt.

You can get rid of old tyres on most tips I think. it's free normally as it stops you just dumping them somewhere.

i've got a couple of old tyres at the back of my garage to stop me reversing into the wall

they make cheap swings for little ones with a bit of rope

when they get a bit bigger you can put a single slice in it, turn it inside out and straighten it out a bit....

there's a lot you can do with a bit of old rubber! (still, i'll probably end up paying 'em for disposal )
