Need help with my polo!

Post by Haylls »

New to the forum so il start off by saying hi :D

I have the 2010 s polo and was wondering if I can get fog lights/LEDs for it and where and how it's done? Also how to sort out xenons and what's a good stereo I can get?

Last one, could I put the gti grill on it without the badge?

Sorry for all the questions, it's so confusing for me!

Thank you in advance for any help

Hello and welcome.

In answer to your questions. Yes you can retrofit foglights from what I know. There are a few threads on here with people who bought Blue GT's and fitted them after market.

With the xenons you are probably better off buying another car!! The cost of the xenons are silly but you will also need to fit headlight washers and an automatic self levelling system to the car. You might be better off fitting HIDs if you really feel the need. ;)

Also from what I remember the GTI is clipped or bolted into the grill so can be removed if wanted and just fit the grill.

I might be wrong and if so some one will be along to correct me.

Is it a combined DRL fog that you are after?

Originally I just wanted the fog lights put in but my cousin said it would be less complicated to just put LEDs in... I don't care what I have really as long as the lower grill has some kind of lights lol. I just want the easiest and cheapest option tbh

Thanks for the reply! :)

I have a 2010 Polo SE and was told I couldn't wire fogs into my BCM as the BCM in my model is not built for fogs apparently.

I put the fogs in by buying the fogs and the fog grills in. . .but didn't wire it up because of the BCM thing. . You'd then need a loom, interior fog lights switch (with chrome around it if applicable though I'm pretty sure the ones on ebay from the 9n3 works!)

When I say BCM. . .Im not even sure if that's right lol but there was a website on her that I found which told you what your polo could have added after market and what couldn't.. . .mine didn't list fogs :(

How easy was it to remove the non foglight grills and fit the fogs .... dont you have to buy the screws to fit the actual foglight ?

you can easily wire up the foglights around the BCM...

That's what I have done in my BlueGT.
