Need some help as a Newbie

Post by IZVVC »

Hi guys this is my first post, God willing I should be getting a 1.2 60 Match 3dr 2011 in white, not that powerful I know but was beautiful for me on my test drive

Just had some few questions which I would be grateful if anyone could answer for me...
1) I would like to make some tweaks to my car like the chirp/bip lock/unlock confirmation, dial sweep/dial celebration, and tear wiping, does anyone know if these are compatible for my car?
2) Secondly I would like to get some brighter white lights, but wouldn't really wanna spend that much, are HIDs advices or is there a cheaper option?

Would really appreciate any advice guys!

I am not sure what you are actually asking here!

Dial sweep/dial calibration? Tear (rear?) wiper? What do you want to do to the rear wiper?
"Chirp bip lock" you want the car to tweet when you lock it with the remote? These are software items. It might be that the VW dealer can do something.
The indicators flash and there is a locking/unlocking noise as standard, although more of a quiet "clunk" than a "chirp" but you do hear it.
Somebody will correct me if l am wrong l'm sure on the other items.

The standard lights are pretty good. The best mod for looks/extra light would be to fit the driving/fog lamps in the lower front grille, if it does not already have them.

Dial Sweep, like when you turn the ignition, the dials sweep all the way to the left and back to the right.
Tear Wipe, when you spray the wash it wipes and then wait like 3 seconds before wiping once more to get any residue left
And I heard you can programme the car to actually make a chirping noise swell when you lock and unlock, but was just looking for some help on this stuff.

But I do have the fog lights but the lights are a bit yellow instead of white I would like

Would be grateful if anyone had any advice! :P

Dial sweep (celebration mode) doesn't work on non GTI/blue gt models as far as I know due to them having a highline cluster

Rear tear wiping and chirping on the alarm can be easily activated , however the chirp will only work of you have the alarm as an extra. Otherwise it uses the horn.

Oooh thanks a lot buddy!

But doesn't every car come with an alarm, sorry to sound really daft, but i have a red flashing light on my door, I thought that was the alarm?

Because I saw a video of the chirp horn and really didn't like it, would prefer the 'hip' noise!

The Match model didnt get it till the 2013 year cars

The red flashing light is the immobiliser/dead lock on the doors :)

Ah, tear wipe. Is that what it is called.

We had that on a hire car, it's surprisingly useful.
