Polo 6r leaking

Post by timmycr90 »

Hi guys and girls,

I noticed a couple of puddles under my car last night and im wanting to pick your brains about what may be causing it, ive uploaded a few pictures for you to see its not water as it smells "eggy" and is greecy, I think it could be the brakes but not 100%. :(

It doesn't look like brake fluid to me, which is good.

But, it does look like coolant?

Has the level in the expansion tank dropped at all?

Actually, that's a good shout from greypolo9n3, I hadn't appreciated that was the inner wing!

I'm guessing your car is red too? I'd assumed the fluid was red too, but realise now it's just taken the dirt off.

If the shock has leaked all it's oil, then it should be undamped/very bouncy when you push that corner of the car?

Hi guys sorry for the late reply. Yes it was frpm the drivers side inner wing. I took the wheel off and had a proper look, it does seem to be the damper thats leeking. Strange how its 10days since I lowered it. Thanks for the help. Guess ill have to find a strut on ebay :)
