I'm new (and generally uneducated when it comes to cars) so sorry if this is a really dumb question! I just changed the air filter on my car and noticed this hose has a crack/tear.
What is this hose for? Does it need replacing or will taping it be ok for now?
Thanks
That's great thank you! I've just rang them and they said it would be £34.38 if anyone was interested!
Do you think replacing it is something I could attempt or be better off to admit defeat and hand it over to someone who has a clue? I want to do as much myself as I can and I want to learn but equally I don't want to mess up something important!
It just pulls off the airbox on the top, then a firm pull will release it at the bottom (its only about 6 inches long)
It goes into a T joint at the bottom, so support the T joint underneath as you pull it as you only want to remove the top short hose!!
When refitting, soak the end for the T joint in boiling water for 5 mins to soften up the rubber which will make it easier to push it back onto the T joint
That makes perfect sense, I'll give it a bash when I get the new hose, thank you for your help! Worst case scenario is I can't get it back on and I'll just run to my next door neighbour who owns a garage. Thanks again
