Annoying wiper blades..
Hi Guys, does anyone know how to stop new wiper blades from gripping the window when in use.. The screen is wet when this happens, as i was using them last night on the way home from work, in some pretty heavy rainfall. They seem to grip and judder from the vertical position, going back to the rest position, and it is really annoying as you can hear the sound and also it doesn't clean the screen properly because of this. Not sure if it is the wiper blades or the screen may have a waxy coat, not that i have done anyway.

Can't say I've noticed this, however my screen is coated with GTechniq C5 from the day after I bought it so perhaps that has changed things for me:

If the car is only 3 weeks old go back to the dealer im sure you can get most things under warranty if the car is less that 6months old and done less than 6k.

I'd try giving the screen a proper clean first, it may well be waxy residue that's not been cleaned off properly. Try some Autoglym glass polish and cleaner or similar product.. Using a clay bar on the screen will also do a pretty good job.

It may also be worth wiping the blades themselves with some undiluted screen wash to remove any contaminants/residue that may be there.
I do get occasional judder when in very light rain when it's borderline to use the wipers or not. When it's wet they are fine.
I've also treated my screen with G-Techniq Smart glass which works very well (But for the first couple of weeks the wipers juddered like hell, but settled)

Failing that it may just be that the wiper arms are not holding the blades perpendicular to the screen. I decent technician should be up to spotting and sorting it, but I wouldn't hold my breath. I've also read but can't remember where that the blades are supplied by Bosch and are actually quite stiff and prone to drying out. (just because the car is new doesn't mean the wipers haven't been sitting in a warehouse for months prior to fitting) It may be worth splashing out on alternatives or even looking at some silicone impregnated ones if everything else fails (but they are quite expensive) Just do the cheap stuff first and give the screen a thorough clean first as it's quick to do and cheapest.

Re: Annoying wiper blades..
Thanks for all the advice guys, i will try some products on it and see how it goes. Also give the blades a good clean. The car was treated with AG Lifeshine as i got it for a very good price, so maybe thats what it is as an initial period and it will decrease in time..
Re: Annoying wiper blades..
Strangely I noticed this myself this morning but only when I had the air blowing to the screen to clear it a little...once I stopped the air it stopped juddering, though a little squirt of screen wash usually sorts it.
