Radio signal loss

Post by chrispy. »

I know this may be a silly topic but since the lightning storms in the UK over the past month or 2, i can no longer get signal from my RCD510.

I have reseated the FM aerial leads
Sadly I do not have a DAB aerial to try.

All i can pick up is BBC Radio and Classic.
Not the best choice for a 24 year old :)

I have checked the FM test section on the 510 and all stations are getting below 25 DbUV's
Normally they are at 60 - the max.

Anyone else noticed signal loss or weakened?

No idea, must have been something to do with the storm because everyones cars were effected.

I tried it this morning and all stations were back.

It can't have been anything on the cars.

The fault will have been in the transmitter, the storm probably took out the local repeater and you were picking up reception from the next nearest one.
