They do look like Volkswagen alloys. Think they are BBS. Just don't know the name for them. I think also (if you are buying those ones), they should come with hub caps.

Sorry I disagree - those wheels look like they have never had or would accept hub centres - Vauxhall used to do some similar wheels but I'm sure they are not Vauxhall ones.
Surely there will be some Identifing marks on the back of the wheels
ET?? Rim Width x Diameter and normally a manufacturers logo.
I have just checked the wheels in my mates garage....no identifying marks whatsoever!

He got the wheels on a mk1 golf cabby he used to own, and shoved them in the garage when he got new ones.
Run-out model 8v Mk2 GTis were fitted with big bumpers and 14" BBS rims as standard. The only obvious ways to tell them apart from their 16v counterparts were the 15" BBS wheels and beesting aerial which the 16v came with.
Those wheels look like BMW 3 series ones to me. They look the same as the ones on Barney Smith's G40:
