i just bought my first car , it was a vw polo 9n 2004 model 1.4 16v

i dont know that much but mine had 94k miles & full service history

always make sure when u go and test drive the car ,check the oil when its cold

then make sure it warms up for about ten minutes take it for about a 2mile drive if time permits

check the last service and stamps ,, verify the mot number online and always do the HPI checks before setting out to view them

Listen to the gearbox whilst idling push the clutch in and out and listen for rattling also on the drive listen to it carefully for any odd noises. They are notorious for eating their gearboxes but others give no trouble.

I'd probably give the 1.4 16V a look as well, it is not a zesty engine, but it is normally very reliable and probably bulletproof, I'm meaning the 75PS engine as that will be easier on insurance and closer to the 1.2 12V.
