I'm a bit confused, my 2014 BlueGT supposedly has heated door mirrors, and the adjuster dial on the drivers door has a heated symbol on it, but how do I turn them on?
Nothing seems to light up to tell me they are on, do they come on with the rear screen perhaps? I tried clicking the adjuster dial up to the heated symbol but again nothing looks to happen?
The owners manual makes no mention of them that I can see unless I've missed it
I think it's just a matter of setting the knob to the heated symbol and turning on the heated rear window. Pretty sure they're linked. That's what 've been doing and it seems to work OK.
Same as Wolfie - although I don't click the heated rear window on with it. I just flick the dial and it works a treat, but I see what you mean with no symbol or dashboard light.
The only way to know that heated wing mirrors works is putting your hand over the glass mirror.
Surely, in the VW Polo 6C (in the CAR menu) can be linked to the heated rear window. In the 6R, linkage through vagcom is needed.
In this way works automatically with the temperature parameters set at the factory.
I have used VCDS and coded my BlueGT so the heatet mirrors turn on when I turn on the rear window.
By doing that you automaticly disengage the option to turn it on via the window switch and it then only works along with the rear window.
A much better solution in my opptinion. And works brilliantly.

I've done the same, a much more sensible arrangement.

Tooks, have you got a 6C?
Sorry, no, I've got a 6R GTI and a 6R 1.2 TDI, and I've done the same mod to both via VCDS.

ahh ok, i was hoping you had the cable and software for the 6C - so i knew which i needed as there are loads of variants.
I have HEX CAN+ cable and VCDS and I'm pretty sure that's the cable you need.
All VAG cars since about 2004 have used the same interface and protocols, and I don't know why they'd change it for the 6C.
Safest way (for a genuine cable anyway) is to email a reseller like Gendan Here in the UK and tell them what car it's for. That way, if for some reason it doesn't work, you can return it.
