Discover Media (Navigation) Gen 2

Has anyone with the Discover Media (Navigation) Gen 2 managed to work out how to update the maps as yet. There seems to be very little information about and even that is on a 'need to know' basis.
The Discover media and Discover Pro are showing that a November update is available to download but neither would appear suitable for the Gen 2.
I have spoken to my dealer and to VW direct but there seems to be very little knowledge of the subject.

Agree about a lack of knowledge on media matters from VW dealers / customer services - just try asking about MirrorLink!!

Thanks for the info but the Gen 2 is not the same download as for the Gen 1 or the Discover Pro. It's a completely different file size and directory setup. I believe it was only released about three months ago.

In that case I can't really offer any help, not least because my replacement B-GT with sat nav won't arrive until March next year.

I have the same issue,

The size and content is completely different then the gen1 updates. Desperate looking for an update because the cards are very out dated. Did you managed to find out a Solution?

Nothing as yet. Sadly the dealer ( and VW High Command ) does not have a clue.

At last I have been able to update my maps to the 2015 version. The file size looked correct at between 14 and 16 Gb so gave it a go and it works fine.
The mapping is at:-

This is for the 'Discover Navigation' or 'Discover Media (Navigation) Gen 2' as VW would have it.

If anyone tries this then please post a reply with your success or otherwise.

I updated from:- 3G0919866 0235 ECE 2014/15 to:-
3G0919866E 0335 ECE 2015

This update VERY nearly fills the VW SD card so whether future updates will fit could be interesting.
