Alloy Wheels and Tyres advice needed

Post by Harry0612 »

I have recently purchased some 15" alloy wheels, with good yokohama 195/50 tyres to replace the 13" steels. Having used a few online converters, this has calculated that the speedo will be out by around 3%. Just wanted to see how much of an issue this could be, and whether it is worth investing in some 195/45 tyres to reduce the speedo error, and any other problems that may be caused. My problem comes however that I am quite keen to keep the yokohama tyres as they are in good nick, and want to reduce any unnecessary expenditure. Any help and advice is greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks in Advance.

If you are not seriously lowered you will have no problems other than the speedo error.

I wouldn't worry about it. My winter tyres are 195 50 rather than 195 45, just remember about the speedo error when around cameras etc

BTW, Your speedo is probably out by that much in any case
