Disable headlight Washers (non Xenon) Polo 6C DONE!

Post by rsmagee »

Anyone have any idea how I can disable these buggers on a Polo 6C. They use so much washer liquid!

Looking for any method that can be reversed (lease car). I have VCDS.

Thanks

EDIT: So I worked it out

Ok, I managed to do this using the guide for a Golf MK 7

1. Go to [09] Central Electronics
2. STG access permissions -> Function 16
3. Enter access code 31347
4. Go to adaptation channels (Function 10)
5. Select channel 3 - Select (3)-Windshield wiper-SRA Waschzeit,2300 ms
6. Adjust value to 0

I am going to look into this, as well, because they're completely useless at cleaning the lights anyway and just leave a mess all over the front of the car. With previous cars, I have just removed the relevant fuse, but I don't know how the Polo is set up. Ciclo..? ;)

I have checked the fuses and I believe it is in with a load of other important stuff. Every other VAG group car has an option in VCDS, I just cant find it yet.

What would really help is an autoscan of any polo 6c without headlight washers. I might be able to work out the bit then.

Is that package all you need? Does it work with Mac?

The cable is all you need, you can download the software from ross tech. It is windows only I believe but virtualisation should work.

Updated the how to. I actulay set it to go off every time! New method sets spray time to 0ms.
