Very Annoyed!
Iv spoken to quite a few forum users on here and absolutely love the forum and most people that iv spoken to will know the amour of trouble iv had with vw while ordering and waiting for the car to be delivered.
I haven't been on much since I picked the car up and posted a few pics of my (what was 4weeks ago) BRAND NEW polo blue gt I loved the car and didn't have a bad word to say about it until 2 weeks of having it came, and an engine light and epc light came on and start stop failed aswell I took it back to the dealership and they said it's still fine to drive it's just an error in the ecu I carries on driving it for another week until one night it lost all power in every gear and sounded like a tractor took it back to vw again and got a courtesy car (vw up) sigh! A week later (today) I revive a call with bad news it needs a new engine because the cam shaft has broke which I can't believe after 3 weeks of driving sensibly it's ridiculous build quality IMO I was just wondering if anyone has had simmilar difficulties and what people would suggest to do they said that they will give me a better courtesy car probably a golf and order me a brand new one May ask to add xenons on this time though if there willing to discount a smidge haha I was also considering asking for my deposit money back and go for a ford st ?

Thats massive bad look. Would have thought the engine issues had stopped with the old 1.4 tsi. Is the blue GT still based on that engine or is it newer? i know the new gti has a nice sparkly new engine in that. I would push for something as they told you to keep driving it which caused further damage. Should have taken it straight off you imo

I know right I don't have a clue tbh but people on here say it's the only polo not to get the 6c facelift and still says 6r on the documentation so guessing still the same yeah the new gti is all brand new isn't it, too expensive for me though
all they told me was they will look for a brand new car that's been made with similar specs or they will order a brand new one yes they defiantly should have just in importance by them yet again my dealer is awfull haha

If they order a new one push for all the extras as add ons free of charge for the hassle. They should bend over backwards to help you considering
Re: Very Annoyed!
You should be able to reject the whole thing and ask for your money back. Something has to be 'fit for purpose' and it is not. Obviously the dealers would still like some sort of deal with you.
Regarding the old GTI, one or two did reject their cars and had a full refund. ( i accepted a new engine, and drive it to this day, awaiting delivery of the new GTI)

That's a tough break!
You should definitely be able to get them to bend backwards for you, and get a good deal with a couple more toys!
Was it DSG or manual?

Still the same engine... the extra 10 bhp is from programming in the ECU.tomtoon2015 wrote:The engine is different from the 6R as it has more BHP on it.
Sorry to hear about your enging trouble James. But don't let that put you off. It's the first I've ever heard of this on the BlueGT. And I'm sure you'll be really happy with it once it's fixed.

Re: Very Annoyed!
Send it back and have a new Polo GTI instead.
Or you could buy a second-hand mk 6/7 Golf GTI/GTD as these seem to be dropping in price now.
I would never touch a 1.4 TSI in any VW group car for these sort of engine issues!
Don't buy a Ford, whatever you do!!

Re: Very Annoyed!
The Ford is no worse quality than a vw. I wouldnt rule out a fiesta st without test driving one. I think the polo is much nicer looking car inside and out tho. Just over quality could be better. Still wouldnt swap it tho. I would see if they will give a nice deal against a new GTI with the better engine if i was youWolfi wrote:Send it back and have a new Polo GTI instead.

So they definitely didn't change the engine? I'm surprised..and also VW are usually good quality cars..Mart!n-GTI-DK wrote:Still the same engine... the extra 10 bhp is from programming in the ECU.tomtoon2015 wrote:The engine is different from the 6R as it has more BHP on it.

It is bad luck and, IMHO, nothing more. All parts are prone to failure following a glitch in the manufacturing process and/or shoddy quality control. Yes, it's a PITA and disappointing on a brand new car, but I have had similar issues with brand new cars in the past. This is why manufacturers provide warranties.

exactly. The way cars are build today there are bound to be a bad part here ans there. it's the first I have ever heard of this happening. So I wouldn't worry about it when you get it back.TheFrog wrote:It is bad luck and, IMHO, nothing more. I would defo go with white. Black hides all the BGT goodies and is a bugger for swirl marks. Just my €2 worthJamesbluegt wrote:Iv decided on ordering a new one maby white instead of black though this time and hopefully get xenons or alcantara interior hopefully as a free upgrade though the complaints department
