9W7 bluetooth troubles!

Post by IZVVC »

Hey guys I recently bought a 9w7 Bluetooth kit and I'm having a very tricky time to install everything as its not working at all.

First of all this is a really silly question but this kit was supposed to be a plug and play but there is some wires left, and I'm wondering what I do with them, they are connected to the loom but I have nothing to plug it in to.ImageImageImage

Also the loom from the module to the head unit isn't long enough and I'm wondering why, so I had to run it under the side of the centre console. Is this normal.

I know these are alot of questions but any help is greatly appreciated as this is stressing me out.
Thanks guys.

Here's the loom Image

Did you purchase an RNS310 or a RNS315 mate?

I'm unaware of the RCD310 supporting VW Bluetooth hence why the 6R's came with the VW Touch Phone Kit :?

Sorry I've just checked your build thread and seen you actually have the RNS310 not the RCD310 - the red wire needs to be connected to a power source, ignition switch may be a good place for this since it will turn on and off with the car. The brown wire needs to be grounded and the two orange cables need to go through to the BCM as they are the Can(high) and Can(low) cables, if you're comfortable accessing the BCM unit then you may be able to splice a different set of Can cables.

Hi there just encountered another problem, I connected the brown and red wire, but I'm so confused as to where I put the Can cables, as I do not know which is which, as I have a brown and black cable and brown and yellow at the back of my head unit, but with the CAN cables I've received are yellow and black AND yellow and a lighter yellow, can anybody help me to which ones I connect them to please :?: :( :?

:idea: The seller of bluetooth unit is the best person who can answer your questions.

The colors of the wires not identified the function, only identify the wire. You have to look the numbering in their respective connectors.

"According to the images that you posted", you need to connect microphone on black 12-pin connector. Look at the colors of the wires in the connector for the microphone (coupling) and their numbering.

1 2-pin connector---> 1 12-pin connector
2 2-pin connector---> 7 12-pin connector

The others wires.
Tell me the number where they come from (54-pin connector). Exact color and number.

2. Multi-pin connector 2, 8-pin (16-pin connector) :arrow: http://www.my-gti.com/2574/volkswagen-r ... ssignments

If they are for CAN BUS you'd have to hook:

9 – CAN bus, high
10 – CAN bus, low

If they are for power supply you'd have to hook:

+ Positive
15 – Voltage supply, positive, terminal 30

- Ground
12 – Voltage supply, negative, terminal 31

In the T54 connector preferably look at the numbers: 1,2,17,18,39

There are also plug-in cable sets available, that go inbetween the quadlock of the radio connection to the car.

like this:

I might have one lying around but I'm not sure

I think it's very simple, but you know that money fixes everything, so the easiest way is the indicated by iichel. Buy in carsystem.

However I leave here an interesting diagram for problem solving with microphone.
