My BlueGT finally here!

Post by cenkay »

Hi guys!

Ordered this Polo last october, was told i should have it mid january, a month later and its finally here :) Really pleased with it so far, done a 300 mile round trip a couple days ago, plenty enough power and very refined, an opportunity to use the nav too which i found to be brilliant

along with the nav, other options are-
light and sight pack
tinted rear windows
xenons
blue silk paint
anthracite wheels
front armrest

Thought i'd share some photos of it, here are a couple from the showroom at volkswagen on wednesday-

and a short not-so-exciting video of me driving it out :D

I only have the one photo of the interior, which shows the pedals i've fitted too :)

Image

looking exceptionally filthy after the long road trip-

And this morning i cleaned it properly and took some photos (note gti exhaust tips :) ), and while the sun was out i decided to drag one of my Mk1 Polos out of the garage and take a few snaps of them together! Im sorry 6r/6c fans, i still prefer my Mk1!! :P :P

Fab car, fab photos. I am actually more jealous of your Mk1! I have been looking out for a yellow one from 1977-79 as my first ever car 30 years ago was a '78 Polo N.

This is a great picture: the Blue GT makes the Mk1's interior look awful and lovely at the same time :D

You can really see on this one how badly the BGT needs 10mm rear spacers :(

Enjoy both :)

Yes - fantastic photos, great contrasting shots between the old MK1 and the 6R! How things have changed in 35 years!

Great car (what can I say :D ) I like that pedal set. Do you have the part number for it? I'm tired of waiting for them at a VW dealer and I'll go straight ordering them online.

I count 6.500 km and all works OK, in general I'm glad with the choice. Enjoy it! Thank you for the amazing pictures posted, really enjoyed them.

I love the Silk Blue, and there's nothing better than driving a new car from inside the showroom :D

I believe the part numbers for the pedal set are below (Thanks Ciclo)

Accelerator: 5Q2721647A
Brake: 5Q0721131A (DSG: 5Q0723131A)
Clutch: 5Q0721601A

I purchased these and they seem to work ok :)

Thanks for the positive comments guys, it was weird when i was moving the two cars around to take photos, jumping in and out of a 35 year old car and one just a few days old... surprisingly the mk1 doesnt feel so bad in comparison to the 6c, its actually very easy to drive, mainly down to its low mileage and extremely light weight.

Frog, i very nearly bought a yellow 1977 polo n a couple years back, was a little too rotten though... so i ended up buying this green 1977 Polo LS instead :) this ones my current restoration project and looks nothing like it does in the photo anymore though lol

As for spacing the rear wheels, i have got a pair of spacers but yet to try them on! been too busy driving, done just over 900 miles in it now :)

Fantastic pics of the Blue GT :) Wish i could have afforded to push the boat out and get one of these rather than the SE Design I've got on order.

Quick question does the light and sight pack add the fogs when you have the xenons?

That was a problem on our 6R BlueGT's that you couldn't have both bi-Xenon and foglights... But you can on the 6C.

So all you have to do is add the light and sight pack and the xenons and you get both or are the fogs on all 6c's regardless if xenons?
