6n2 gti oil temp sensor ? URGENT PLEASE

just took apart my head to have it skimmed and broke the BLACK SENSOR on the right side of the cylinder head. does anyone know what this is ? there is a green one on the front of the block on the same side which i think is the oil pressure sensor. they both screw directly into the head.

any help would be much appreciated, im kind of foked till i get this sorted so i can put the head back on.

Is it the one on top to the right of the 1st spark plug?


Thats the cam position sensor. Readily available from VW, but about £30 for one - its important you only use genuine sensors.

no sorry its the one on the side of the engine not the top. wont let me upload image but here is a url

it has stuff stamped on the sides of the sensor like 3a0 919 563, max 150 c, 805/40/1, tried to google it but cant find anything. driving me nuts. it must be something to do with the oil tho because it is threaded into the oil channel for the tappets

That's the oil temperature sensor

3a0 919 563 is the part number. Take this to your local
Vw dealer and they'll be able to order one in for yoU
