Fuel Filter & Spark Plug Removal

Post by chrispy. »

Anyone got a screenshot or link for the manual of instructions on how to remove both Fuel Filter and Spark Plugs?

Checked the manual but nothing in there.

Thanks!

Hi
What engine to do you have ?

Spark plugs will need a special tool to remove the HT lead. I think the Sealey one is the cheapest decent quality.

You'll also need a special oil filter removal tool. On my 1.2TSI it's a 42mm Socket.

Cool, I did an oil, fuel, air flter, spark plugs and oil last week.

Bought everything from TPS for under £50 for all genuine VW parts.

The ht lead puller and oil filter wrench were about £15 for the pair.

Your welcome to borrow them.

You've done well to get the plugs and the tools for that money. Price for the plugs alone came in at (NGK-IZFR6P7 - 97153) £14.34 from ECP so X4 = £57.36 (I've assumed you're talking about a 1.2Tsi)

I wasn't aware that you needed a "removal tool" for the plug leads, Wouldn't mind a part number or a link to them if anyone has one. Better still instruction on how to remove them.

At what interval should the plugs be swapped??

It said on ECP that there 4 for £14.34..
May have read it wrong.

As for the spark plug swap.. It says every 40,000 miles but I do them every year.. Im weird like that.

TPS (Trade part specialists) are owned by VW. It's quite strange that you can walk in off the street and get everything. 50% cheaper than from a dealer. and it's all genuine parts. They also do service pack specials.

Here's the eBay item to the sealey HT lead removal tool....260410340724

Full service took about 2 hours including all fluid top ups. Should be quicker next time as I'll know what I'm doing.
