Hi all,

Popped in to say hello!

We collect my wife now Polo GTI next Saturday.

Specialist cars VW in Aberdeen got it in on Friday morning and we saw it and bought it on Friday lunchtime!

My wife currently drives a Polo R Line which she adores, but its 2.5 years old now, so she was looking for something newer. Really don't need all the power of the GTI, but we were both smitten so bought it!

I drive an Evoque, so we can use the GTI for messing around on the A/B roads up here.

Ive owned a Mk5, Mk6 Golf GTI and had a BMW M135i before the Evoque, so Im used to a nippy hatchback!

At the same time as we agreed on the GTI, I also traded in my Evoque and bought a brand new Golf R.

However, after a nights sleep, I decided that we should keep the Evoque and cancelled the Golf R order.

Apparently the GTI is the first one in NE Scotland....for a few weeks anyway!

Will post some first impressions next week, once we've put a few miles on the clock...

Yes mine was ordered around the 14th January and the dealer informed me last week that it was still status 10, 'with the factory'

Spoke to my dealer yesterday.

My GTI is showing as build week 16 at the minute, having provisionally been slated for week 23! The waiting is killing me already, so not sure I could've coped with an extra few weeks on top, too.

It'll be worth the wait so I'm pretty chilled....at the min lol. Another question, are u people gonna let the dealer wash an prepared the car? Friend of mines new golf was blighted by light scratches and swirl marks because of poor washing technique by the supplying dealer.

I'm sure it will. I had a 2007 GTI in white , loved the 1.8 engine, no problems with it. It had a nice turn of speed to it.
Then I got the 2010 GTI with the infamous 1.4 engine, which is and feels quicker than the 2007 model .
The latest incarnation is a bit quicker still. So I'll be surprised if you're not impressed. :)

problem is my 2007 isn't exactly standard lol

i think the extra options on the new model should make it a decent upgrade plus i'll probably map it after a year lol

Hi all,

Does anyone know the answer? Maybe its too soon?

Whats the PCD of the new GTI?

My wifes Polo rline has 5x100 wheels and Ive taken the winter wheels off in ready for trading it in.....question is, will the winter wheels fit on the new car?

Cheers if anyone knows for sure, although I suspect I might have to whip a wheel off next weekend and try a winter on!

(I normally take all wheels off on new cars just to grease them and save the PITA sticking to the hub which happens after a few months.....
