Wheel bearings

Post by B1N9S »

My 6R TSI has been lowered now for about 3 years and the wheel bearings at the front have finally given up the ghost !!!

Has anyone changed theirs ? Looking at the pics on Ebay, it looks like you simply swap the whole hub assembly ? Is it that straight forward, no pulling or pressing involved, or am I being over optimistic ?

Cheers

No the newer style bearing consoles still need to be pulled out and pressed into the hub.

Found a video (I know its a 9n Polo, but principle is the same) to show you what is involved.

That's brilliant Joe. Thanks mate. Now I can see exactly what is needed.

Has anyone done this without the fancy hub puller in the video ? That looks expensive for a one off job !
