Hey TheFrog!

Really nice car - and you're adding very neat details :D - If you don't mind, I'll copy the phone holder...that's what I was looking for! I usually don't drink in the car, one of the cupholders is for the "mini bin" like yours (from a Toyota Auris in my case) and the other is where I put the phone.

Thanks for sharing the info!! :D

Can anyone confirm that if you add the chrome tail ipes to the GT that you say that you car has been modified or not?. I'm thinking of getting these on my GT and my insurance is due for renewal but not sure it to say car has been modified or not by adding them?.

Thanks

Surely not?! They do not affect the engine, braking or handling in any way. It would be like telling your insurance you've decided to drive in a t-shirt today :D

Thanks for the compliments. Of course I don't mind your copying the phone holder idea. It wasn't from me anyway, and that's what these forums are for :)

Hi Frog.
Cheers for all the info you have me on BGT facebook page. I ordered my White BGT a couple of weeks ago and after looking through some posts, decided to join the forum. I have a delivery estimate of 13 weeks and I can't wait. I have already picked some subtle changes to do once the car arrives. I look forward to being part of the forum.
Cheers.
Apologies if this isn't the correct place to post this.

Welcome to the forum. There's lots of friendly advice on here about subtly (and not so subtly...) improving what is already a superb car :)

I'm jealous of all the people modding their blue gts. As I get mine on finance and change my car every 18 months due to my mileage I can't do anything to mine!

Mine's on finance and I also change every couple of years. The rules are probably different in France, though...

I was basically told by VW if I start fiddling with it it invalidates my warranty. Don't know if that's just a UK thing though. Don't want to risk it!

Nope, the law dosnt work like that. If you change something and it breaks, not covered, is something differnt breaks you are still covered fine. I.e change the headlights and the gearbox dies, you are covered. Lower the car and a shock breaks, not covered.

Edit: also tell you insurance about engine mods. The premium was small for me and you do not want to be left without cover of you crash it.

I'd be careful - enough said. My GTI is under warranty and your right to be cautious. Revo specialists can hide their mapping from VW, I.e they don't really know what they are looking for/any trace can be removed (binary code) so I think you can get away with some stuff but VW, in my experience, will charge you to replace non VW parts if they break, I.e change your stock headlights back for £300 not under warranty.

Cheer frog. Didn't realise that I didn't get email notifications otherwise I would have replied sooner.
I saw in another post that the GT badge at the front is just glued on. Can you confirm this for yours as I had a look at the dealers demonstrator and it looked like it was part of the grill? Cheers.
I too have asked the dealer to remove the rear badges and they said they would but wouldn't be responsible for any damage done to the paint. Am I maybe as well just doing it myself?
I'm looking at colouring the VW emblems but can't decide whether to go black or white. Lots of black ones about so thinking maybe white would be a bit more unique!
So excited to get the new car. This is the first car I've bought with a bit of power (VW Up and Fiat 500 were my last 2) and I love the clean, sharp lines of this shape of Polo. Looking forward to posting some pics once it arrives and get into the forum a bit more. Thanks again.

Thanks. I hoped that would still be the case. I thought I would double check as I couldn't see a join line round the backing plate that slips over and round the middle grill slat. Cheers.
