I've ordered a new GTI and I didn't realise until just now that it appears that the battery is located in the boot under the spare wheel. I don't use my car very much in the winter and I need to connect it to an intelligent charger from time to time in the winter months just to stop the battery getting too low and being damaged.
Will I have to remove the spare wheel to get at the battery in my GTI, or is there a terminal somewhere more accessible that I could connect my charger to?
Many thanks if anyone can help!

There is two connectors in the engine bay to connect your charger to.Guy wrote:I've ordered a new GTI and I didn't realise until just now that it appears that the battery is located in the boot under the spare wheel. Wow - that's a relief! I guess they would be needed for emergency starting from a battery jump start pack (I've got one of those too!)
Many thanks for the quick reply.
