The dip and fogs are H7's, there is little point upgrading the beam which is a H1. The sidelights, am not sure about. Its a 5W Bosch 501 (written on it). Cool thing about the newer headlights is that you can inspect the bulbs through the glass. :)

I'm kinda confused now!

Just checked up on a website, and it says the main/low beam is a H4! :?

no its not, because that would mean same reflector for high and low beam. The lupo uses H4's But the Mk5 uses a H1 in nearest the grill and H7 nearest the indicator, the sidelight is in the beam reflector at the bottom.

See I know my lights, mine had H7 xenons for a bit, but they were just too damn bright, so I put them in the fogs, which are conveniently also H7. One day I might see if I can fit the projector units from the GTi, but till that day they can stay in my fogs.

They may have been halogen xenon look-a-likes, but they wouldn't be the proper xenon gas discharge bulbs.

You should check them out. they'll blind anyone/every1!

They are discharge bulbs. With 6000k H7 Halide bulbs, two ballasts, and wiring.
