I have one wired to the main radio. The adapter was around £50 but it works. Source Sounds in sheffield did it.

I know it seems expensive but at the time I just wanted it fitted so I didn't care how much I paid... It looks much fancier than the one that has been posted... It is a set of wires, then a box, then more dials! :?

I suspect the reason it was so expensive is it had remote 12v. Very useful

I think the knobs would be for gain and crossover, knobs you have on the amp
An extra 42 quid for 12v remote? I'd rather pocket that £42 and wire the remote wire to my fuse box

True it is a lot. The advantage of sound detecting remote 12v is it come on with the radio. An ignition 12v source needs the key to be turned, the sub won't work if you just have the radio on. I.e parked. More important if your amping all your speakers like me. Though my amp has the 12v built in.

Car stereo places are always disgraceful ripoffs. A lot of the work is exceedingly easy to do.
