1.2 TSI (R-Line)

Post by LeeT96 »

I was wondering if anyone has had theirs remapped in/around Sheffield...
I live in Sheffield and was wanting somewhere quite close to me but also want to make sure that it is "good quality."

I have seen "SLT Remapping and Diagnostics" and they claim to be able to get 130bhp and 215nm of torque (around 158lb/ft) is this realistic?

Hello!

I'm from Sheffield as well and I have the same car haha! I had mine mapped over at Big Fish Tuning, they quoted me 140bhp and after a dyno it was around about that figure. Had a catback exhaust fitted afterwards so may need another map to compensate but I believe you could achieve figures of upto 150bhp with a good custom map.

Where abouts in Sheffield are you from?

A few of my polo incase you see me about, don't forget to wave or flash me!

I actually live just 5 minutes away from you! I won't say the actual name but if you go up the country lane just off the roundabout, turn right, past the pub on the left - it's near the chippy! ;) :D

Oh wow haha, didn't realise you lived so close! We have regular meets here at the waverley pub. Should come join us some time :), everyones welcome.

My exhaust was custom made at a company in rotherham near parkgate.

Big fish tuning charged me £300 but i had a £50 discount. The map was custom to the car and not one of those plug and play ones. Was road tested afterwards and dyno'd so i could feel and see the difference.

I love HDR's too! Just a shame they dont always go right and half the images you take end up being chucked!

Big fish might be a bit far for me - do you know your new 0-60 times with the map etc? Looking to get my exhaust done too, was it AMJ?

I dont exactly but my brothers bmw 116i 1.6 turbo is 7.1 secs i think 0-60 and he only just pulls away from me so based on that i say it was around the 7.5 sec mark.

Yes i think it was that company! The guys quite good who did my exhaust. If you want a pre made setup then exhaust uk can do cobra exhausts for the 1.2 tsi. I asked them before and they wanted £1200 for a full catback including sportscat and 2.5" all the way back. The system was idential to that off the polo gti!

You're more than welcome to have a look and listen to mine if you want and see if you fancy the same.

Haha yeah its daylight robbery! I could understand for a high performance engine with real gains but not for something that would gain minimal from it.
