1.2TSi Oil & Water temp?
Know I know there are no gauges as such but is the information actually monitored within the ECU/software? Does it even have temp sensors for oil & water?

Yes, it has got sensors for oil and water
It monitors it all in the background - if it was over temperature, it would ping on the dashboard.

Cheers,
I'm surprised there is no way of displaying the information directly or even OEM or aftermarket gauges that access that data?

You can upgrade to the fancier cluster which has those gauges. But its like a £300 upgrade then time coding everything in.
Bit of a pain in the gluteus maximus.
I have the 1.2 TSI aswell and would kind of want to know how my engine is running
You could get yourself a OBD-II cable that can go to an iPhone and run an application to monitor.. But again its pricey.
