Hi all, just picked mine up yesterday. :P :P :P
Im impressed. This is so much fun... I have not reved it over 3500-3700 but the torque is amazing. Tomorrow i will do a long trip. From Luxembourg to Gijón, Spain. 1600 km non stop, I cant wait.
For those that are waiting for it as I was until yesterday: Do not desperate. Long wait but for sure worth the wait.
Salut!!

As is mine! Seem quite a few are being built end of July. Hoping for an early September delivery. All the posts suggest that I won't be sorry I chose the Polo over a Fiesta ST which is good since all the motoring press constantly prefer the ST which is annoying! Hope also I won't be disappointed I chose the standard set up over the sport button. Anyone out there who has driven both (a standard car vs a car with the sport option) and has a view?

Yes, I've driven both Polos and the Fiesta ST too.

The Sport Kit is a no-brainer on the Polo for the money, in my opinion. Please read earlier posts in this thread for more info.

Thanks I originally thought the same but was put off by some views that the sport option didn't add a great deal more (unless you are on a track or smooth roads) and you had to put up with fake engine noise when the button is depressed. I did try to change the order but it was too late so I will need to stick with my original decision! I understand standard set up is a half way house between comfort and sport anyway.

Now read your comparison on the ST which is very helpful. I like to drive briskly but I don't take things to the limit (well rarely anyway) so ultimately the Polo is the right choice for me.

I don't think you'll be disappointed with your choice. I too thought the standard suspension felt in-between the Sport's Comfort and Sport settings, which is no bad thing at all. It's also one less electronic gadget to break in years to come I suppose!

Last night I drove mine in the dark for the first time. The LED lights are great, but any brighter I'd be able to see through walls!

Has anyone used the Supagard on the car yet? Just wondering the best way to apply the stuff as I've never used it before.

Guys, you have so much passion for GTIs, after reading the whole thread I cannot wait for mine :)

We have seen a few pictures, mostly of red, black and white versions. Does anyone have the Silk Blue one and can share some pics, preferably with sunroof? I'm ordering tomorrow and colour is the last thing that I cannot decide upon. Still fighting between pure white and silk blue.

Personally, as much as I like the colour Silk Blue its associated too heavily with the Blue GT, if I saw it I would presume its a Blue GT not a GTI. My personal opinion. I also don't think it fits with the red which is used throughout the car, e.g the grilles, interior, brake calipers etc think the blue clashes too much.

Still waiting for a build week on mine, getting a bit annoyed now Volkswagen are giving me an estimate build week of 36 still. :(

Where I live they don't sell the Blue GT, so it's not an issue ;) Silk Blue looks simply lovely in this review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xNDCSw3MpEI and also here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TWsSqAHw_LY

I hate reading about all those delays, my dealer is telling me that once I order it should take up to three months for delivery, but I'm preparing myself mentally for a longer wait.

Given that choice I'd go for the Blue Silk. I'd guess it will be rarer than the white. Haven't seen any on this forum yet or in the flesh. It also reminds me a bit of an old Helios Blue metallic Mk2 Golf GTI we had, and that looked really classy.
