Only one I've seen is the Forge one, are there any others you could recommend?

I fitted a universal kit off eBay. No way I was paying forges price for an open filter that will just get heat soak. Taken mine off now though as it seemed to be a bit poor running in lower gears at low speed. Thinking of getting a enclosed filter like the forge one for the GTI and making it fit. Or a universal bmc enclosed filter may be the next best thing

Couldn't you just leave the cold air feed pipe from the bottom of the original air box and put a cone filter on top of it? Or is that no good?

How about something like this?

Setup looks the same except for the engine.

That should be able to be made to fit. I'm sure most ITG filters are universal.
