Paint stripped during number plate swap

Post by beatty599 »

Image

I have a specialist rubber piece for number plate sticker removal and it works fine on all cars, i know this as my friend is a mechanic uses it but it decided to strip bits off paint from my bumpers more than just in the image.

What do you think I should do?

Should I try and contact VW see if their warranty might cover it? or just take it as a loss and fill it in with bit of primer and cover it up with the number plate?

I've seen this happen many many times

Prime it and give it a coat of colour to match. VW won't be interested. They'll say the adhesive tape used was too strong

Thanks for the advise, it must be a thin coat on the bumpers for it to be stripped off so easily.
