Fan Nozzles on Windscreen Washers

Post by RUM4MO »

Okay, I have used the search function on this forum and it turned up nothing, so, has anyone replaced their windscreen washer nozzles with the Audi and Seat equivalent parts, ie the Polo, well at least the 6R0 6C only gets the twin spraying nozzles, today I noticed that, checked my 2011 Audi B8 S4 - it has treble or fan spray nozzles, checked late 2009 Ibiza SC and it also has the treble or fan spray nozzles. Wife has not had her car long enough for me to comment on how effective the old twin spray nozzles are, only trouble is, wife's Polo has winter pack so it will have heated nozzles and that will mean higher costs!

i don't really have the feeling that the twin-beam sprayers are insufficient

by the looks of it, the S4 and ibi solutions are not retrofittable to the polo

Have I started this thread based on something that was an issue with some Ibizas ect and never an issue with Polo, both my S4 and the Ibiza have 3-off visible plated nozzles per spray head, I have not worked out what the Polo has although it is not that, based on pictures on the Ibiza website, it does seem to be the 3-off visible plated nozzles per spray head that people are trying to change to though, but the generic description does seem to be "fan spray" nozzles. I'm open to opinions though if you say that physically the Polo mounting point is different then I will have to dump that idea, as well as the fact that the nozzles on wife's car are heated (££££) ?

I had the feeling that current(ish) Seat Ibiza ones looked exactly like the Audi one in that picture, could be wrong though, the Seat one shown is very 2000(ish) ie same as my old 2000 B5 Passat and sold on 2002 Polo. Looks like I'll need to do some more checking, today is Ibiza brake cleaning/checking day so I will have the chance to check and see what its one look like.

Edit:- oh, I've missed the point of these pictures, need to check current Polo one as surely VW has moved forward.

I've just looked back on postings about this, it seems that the " 3 nozzle" spray heads were only fitted to some Audis, VWs, Seat and Skoda, and the feeling is that they should be replaced by the "fan head" spray heads. The parts getting fitted are "5M0" which were fitted to Superb, Caddy, EOS, Golf etc. I can't see me replacing the ones in my S4 as they are heated and daughter can fund her own in her Ibiza - which she will not bother about.

It just seems weird that VAG "allow" the use of two completely different parts across the latest models in their marques, someone must have missed that detail out!

So, currently this is not a modification that concerns the 6R Polo - my mistake - sorry!
